Tell me what you think...

I think I am slowly falling into the Facebook trap. I look on Dustin's Facebook all the time because our friends from like high school and all over are on there....but I can't really talk to them over Dustin's name. Should I let in to the peer pressure and become a Facebooker? I'd have to keep up with a blog too at the same time, and I don't know if I want to do both... I know some of you are, so let me know if it's worth it.

The new dog toy

This was the first day of their new toy and collars....they didn't make it past 24 hours before Phoebe chewed through hers.....I swear we've spent about $50 on collars/harnesses alone just for Phoebe. If we could just remove her vocal cords and her teeth, she really would be a completely enjoyable dog.
Sophie was obviously obsessed with the squeaking, but she couldn't find it with her mouth, so just dug for it. She's been doing it for about 2 days now.

And it's back!

Well, after about 2 weeks of sharing our only car left, and looking over Kingwood Yard Sales and craigslist for other Hondas, we found another civic and took the only step towards car security that we knew- we got The Club. Yep. We have a civic with a club in it, and hey, I think it will at least deter those stupid thieves from stealing again.
So, about 4 days after we bought the new civic we get a call at 8:30 PM on our anniversary and on the other end was the Houston Police saying that our car was found. We could go and pick it up in Spring at an impound lot. They couldn't tell us though if it was drivable, only that it was in fair condition and the steering column was busted.
The next day I spend my lunch hour trying to get a hold of the Detective that called me wanting to tell me what condition our car was in and where he found it. He gave me a number that of course did not lead me to him, but after about 2 hours we finally got in touch. He was patroling the usual apartment complexes in Spring that have stolen cars frequenting their parking lots, and he came upon our Civic- without front and rear plates and without the front VIN plate on the drivers side. He coninuted to tell me it was the cleanest stolen car he's ever found, and that if we had any personal items in it (which we did), they were definitely all gone. I told him we had vacuumed it out and cleaned the carpets about 2 days before it was stolen ,and he laughed and said that was probably why it was so clean.
That night we made the drive to the impound lot, and after paying $275 to get it out of the lot Dustin was able to drive it home with a dangling steering column and ignition. Though, the drivers side has problems staying locked now. Thankfully though, nothing was wrong with the actual physical appearance and engine, so it drives just fine.
When we got home Dustin took a few things out from under the hood to prevent anyone from driving off with it again. We will try to fix what's wrong and sell it now that we have 3 cars...yeah, we're living large.
Any takers?

Dude, Where's my car?

Well, I think I should let everyone know what we were vicitms of the night of June 2nd. Let's tell a little background. Nine at night on June 2nd, Dustin takes out Phoebe and Sophie for a potty break, and everything's fine, he even sees the cars on his way out across the parking lot. We sleep well, and as any morning we get up and get ready for the day, and Dustin makes his way out first to go to work. I get a call about 1 minute later and Dustin is asking me on the other end "Janelle, where's my car? Do I not see it? I've looked around the sides of the building. Am I stupid and just can't see it? I think someone stole my car." I quickly spit out my toothpaste, put on my shoes and rundown the stairs. I go out and Dustin is standing in awe in an empty parking space. "Did you look around the side of the building?" I ask. " Yes! I did! Someone stole the car! it was parked right here, and I saw it last night when I took the dogs out It's gone!"We are both half laughing, half in shock at this point. I immediately call my mom and tell her what has happened, and I hear Mandy's gasp in the background. Mom tells me to call the police and file a report, which we do, but takes a while because someone can't get the right license plate number correct in their file. Eventually the verdict is, our car is now officially stolen in the city of Houston police records........................................ Dustin takes me to work, and my parents pick me up and take me home after grilled cheese and tomato soup at their house. I have thought all day how this could have happened. We really don't know. Who wants an old ugly Honda?
So this is what I'm thinking. Those of you who do know what Dustin drives, which is a GREY 1995 HONDA CIVIC LICENSE PLATE 478 MHM with rust spots on the roof and hood, keep your eyes peeled! We need your help to find our car! But we did laugh quite a bit though that a car could just vanish like that. The stupid people that stole it though are getting a raw deal- it doesn't have AC! HaHa! Take that you thieves!
Well, don't take offense if we don't make it to parties or church on time or work for that matter. It's kinda hard to just up and buy a new car when your last one pulls a vanishing act. And weird enough, just yesterday I told Dustin we should start car pooling to work since he goes past my work on the way out and back. I think someone was preparing me for what the morning was to bring.

New furniture!

Well it only took 2 weeks to get our furniture after we bought it, but it finally came! The next day everyone came over to test it out. We love all of it!! It's a microfiber sectional and a marble top table.

I look a bit scary, but it was a cute one of miss Haylee.

In the middle of trying out the couch, Grace decided that she didn't want to wear anything but her diaper. She then found the blanket and cuddled up underneath it.

Miss Keisha and little Sophie testing out the keyboard. That's the first place Keisha always goes when she comes over. She's a pretty musical girl.

Haylee with her 'pretties'.

Here's my mom, sister-in-law Ashley, and Mandy (with her baby girl #3!)

My Dad and Kyle just chillin'.

I guess Haylee didn't want to be held at the moment. Grace was up for a big cheese though!

And here's some views without anyone.

Isn't it so pretty?! We are still having a time with some of our pictures and boxes we have yet to unpack. We don't have as much room to put out some of our little display things, so that's what those boxes are still doing there. I keep forgetting that we have a table, and still just go and sit at the bar to eat. It'll take a while to get used to our new luxuries!

New Address!

Yep. We have moved to another apartment! Dustin, Sophie, Phoebe and I are no longer in building 9. We have moved on up to building 11! So tell your address book to change our digits! We made some upgrades along with more space- we now have internet in our home!! I know, I know. We are not as young and hip as we seem to be. We will even get a home phone pretty soon...cuz we kind of had to. We even went out and bought a new couch and dining table (because we didn't have room for one in our other place, just eatin at the bar). Pictures of those will come when they get delivered. :) We are super excited, so come and see our new home sometime! Our walls have not been decorated yet though. I need some help deciding what goes where and what to get rid of.
We will most likely be in this apartment until we are able to get a house and/or when we find out where Dustin will be working after graduation (which is this December!! woohoo!!). Give him a pat on the back- he's working really hard.

So clever

Dustin thought he was pretty clever for thinking of this. What does this make you think of?

Yep. Hot Dog and Bun. Funny one Dustin. Because she's a weenie dog.

And just so you'll get a glimpse of how Phoebe sleeps. She likes to get halfway under the kitchen counter and contort her body. She's a weird one.

Fun in the rain

It had been really rainy, and the dogs were getting cabin fever, so we decided that since they were due for their weekly bath we would take them out to the parking lot next to our apartments and let them run around inthe puddles and rain. I forgot my camera though! But here is an after picture. Sophie doesn't look like she's wet, but she actually is. They LOVED running in the puddles!

......and so did Dustin. He liked the puddles too.

...and here comes the suds. We found that bathing them in the sink was a little hard since they both are big now. We can contain them a little better this way!
