Best 3D Ultrasound Yet

Since our little stinker is breech, faces towards my back, and has his face stuffed into the placenta (sorry if too much info here), we have not been able to get a decent 3D picture...but today I think we got a pretty good one!
(It's the same picture, just different tones)
I went to see the specialist doctor today and he said that any time on or after July 10th Garrett can come! They will not let me go to a full 40 weeks with a breech baby due to the chance of a prolapsed cord if my water breaks. One of a few reasons I think. So really, as of today we could be parents in 4 to 5 weeks! Eek! Good thing we are pretty much as ready as we can be at home. Now we just need to put his carseat in, and make sure my hospital bag is set...just in case!

Garrett now weighs 5 lbs 6 oz
I think we will call him our chunky monkey.

Garrett's Room

Dustin and I originally planned on painting the nursery ourselves, but things got busy, and Mandy gave us the name of a painter who has great deals, so we jumped on that train pretty quick! We are both so glad we did because we could not have finished the room in one day as they did, and did such a perfect job.

Here's a look at Garrett's room before and during

and after!!

I love it to pieces! It took me a while to pick out the colors, but I had a little help, and I'm glad I didn't choose another green I was looking at. This one turned out perfect. I even made Garrett's name sign all by myself! Well, with the help of an online store that printed his name in sticky vinyl. I am thinking of doing some kind of little border on it, but I'm not sure yet so I'm just going to look at it for a few weeks and see what I think.

A view from the floor...probably how Garrett will view his room for a while!

A little view of his super cute bedding. Each whale has a different texture to it, so it's even cuter in person!
We are so ready for Garrett to make his grand entrance!

Our Rockin' Shower!

Of course the camera I decide to bring has dead batteries by the time the first present is opened! Very disappointing! Mom has more pictures on her camera, so I will get those later.
My wonderful sister Mandy and my great friend Alayne threw me such a great shower! So much went into putting it together, I was so pleased. Dustin wanted to come from the time a baby shower was even thought of, and after we heard that dads-to-be are going to baby showers these days, it wasn't a question as to whether he would come or not. I'm so glad he was there and that no one seemed to mind at all! He's my best friend, and of course Garrett's daddy, so it was great to share the whole night of baby fun with him.
Mandy made the totally cute banner behind us. I plan on hanging it up in my hospital room!

First gift was our awesome pack-n-play! We were thrilled to get this! We really thought we would be buying most of our big ticket items ourselves, but goodness sake do we have some incredibly generous friends and family!!!

The only picture with friends I got was this one with Jen and Pina! I had the pleasure of meeting them through work- but what is funny is all of us quit in a fairly short time from that office...and never plan on going back!

Back home looking through all our loot! We were given a wipee tower- so funny!- and I think we have enough wipes to last 6 months at least! Probably not in reality, but it's hilarious how many boxes of wipes we now have!
A few pictures and then we were off to bed! (Belly shot- 32 weeks 1 day.) Both of us were so tired from the excitement of the shower!

Our excitement continued the next day with my brother Gabe and his wife Sonya giving us our awesome Britax B-Ready stroller, equipped with the second toddler seat!! I was speechless! Dustin and I thought long and hard about what stroller we wanted, and this one fit everything we were looking for, including lasting longer than one child. My family really is so generous I can't believe it. I'm very lucky.
The only thing we ended up buying was the highchair, which was not that huge of a purchase because it was on sale at Target and I had gift card! We are set with everything we need. I'm so thankful to everyone who helped to 'feather our nest'!
My little brother Kyle graduated the next day, so my whole family minus one sibling was here to celebrate not only the shower, but also high school graduation! I love being with my family. Garrett is such a lucky little dude to have such fun grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles who already love him and will be so involved in his life.

Our Babymoon!

We went to the Gruene Apple Bed and Breakfast for our babymoon a few weeks ago. It's located right outside of New Braunfels. It was soo amazing and we highly recommend everyone go there! It was worth every penny! Their breakfasts are legendary with everything made from scratch the night before and morning of. They also had amazing fruit! I can't get enough fruit! We even bought their cookbook to try to bring the goodness home!

30 weeks 3 days

This is our room, called 'The Big Apple'. It is one of their biggest rooms with a king size bed and an awesome bathroom, which I forgot to take pictures of. Each room here is a different theme, which makes the experience of it all so fun. You also have your own little fridge and tv with cable.

We even had our own balcony from which we could sit out on wicker chairs and could see the Guadalupe river rushing past.

We were only there for the weekend, so we had Friday night and all Saturday to do what we wanted, with a trip home on Sunday. So Saturday we decided after forgoing floating down the river with lots of drunk high school and college graduates to go see a cave. I've been one other time and I loved it, but Dustin had never been in one before. This was incredible! These shots are right at the entrance and walking in.

I won't talk about all of these, because I forget what everything is called, and really the pictures don't do the beauty of it all justice.

These are all very tiny little projections from the ceiling, so small you could snap them right off. All formed from water dripping downward. These were some of our favorite things to spot.

There was a sign in the entrance of the cave that said it was a felony and you would be put in jail if you touched anything in the cave. Anything that was touched would turn black over time.
This picture on the right looked all wet and slimy, and it made me wanted to touch it so bad! But I didn't....

These were monstrosities! Some of many really. They went from floor to ceiling; some a few stories high.

Near the end of the tour, which lasted about 90 minutes, you had to walk up a very steep and slippery pathway. Thank goodness for railing!! Looking down in this huge room was spectacular to see everything lit up. These formations all take hundreds of years to even grow a few inches- can you imagine when this cave started forming all of these stalactites and stalagmites? It made Dustin and I really think about the Creation and what a miracle nature itself is and how amazing that so many things form all by themselves from almost nothing but water.

After our cave diving we met up with Dustin's parents who happened to be going home from Dallas to Snyder, so they detoured and we had a lunch at Cici's. Shopping at the little shops within walking distance from our B&B was on our agenda next. I got some necklaces and earrings and we checked out an antique shop. I've never been in one, and this one just seemed to be full of really old stuff that you would find in your grandparent's house. Nothing really jumped out at either of us. So we went back to our room and took a really long nap and watched movies until 1 or 2 in the morning. Such is the life and energy level of a 30 week pregnant lady I guess.

The weekend was short, but it was so great to have a little vacation in such a fun place! We are definitely going back for anniversaries and future babymoons! Now we are ready for our little boy to come and join in our fun together.
