Well before we left Mancos to make the trek back to SLC for me to fly back home (altogether about 9 hours), we stopped in Durango to go shopping down Main Street, and then stopped off at the Silver Trading Company and I drooled over their gorgeous gem stone jewelry and stones. I had to take this picture with the antler arch- very outdoorsy.
We didn't go inside, but walked around outside, but this place is some hugely huge home carved inside this mountain. It has like 50 bedrooms or something.

Ouside the 'Hole'.

Little bunnies just chillin'. They were really tiny.

Yes, I was still totally car sick and nauseated here.

The sun was shining in my eyes, so we had to take it quick right when I opened my eyes...not like that's an important fact for you to know...

We are at the entrance to the Arches National Park.

I am nervous while Dustin drives up the sides of the mountain as we begin our windy trek...no good for an already car sick Janelle...it didn't stop me from looking at everything and taking pictures though! Gosh darnit, I was going to see this place whether I was puking my guts out the car window or not!

First look-out

This reminded me of those Will Smith movies with aliens and it showed where they lived. This place made me think that any moment a huge slimy creature was going to come out.

Riding up the side of a mountain- I was already so nauseated I wanted to die, and being up high made me nervous, which just made me feel worse.

So many formations were out all on their lonesome- wonder how that happened!

Starting here, Dustin was on his own, coming back from Salt Lake. He dropped me off at the airport one morning and then drove back to Mancos by himself, stopping again at the park to see what we missed when we left the park. I was too sick to go on, and we still had to finish the drive to Bountiful.

This was the one monument I wanted to see, but I just couldn't make it the day before, so Dustin went back on his own when he drove back down to Mancos to take more pics of what I missed.

Dustin said they saw all these cattle out in the field close to the river they fished at, so they decided to honk at them a few times to get their attention. Well, that is precisely how their owner gathers them to feed, because this is what they did- came running towards them and stood there and stared. They eventually realized they weren't getting anything, so they ran off.
Where Dustin and his dad went fly fishing before Dustin had to come home too.
