Garrett turned one!! We had a fairly large party mostly for him, but a little for me too, because it was my birthday too! I kept forgetting all week long that it was my birthday also coming up, until the day before. Then I really remembered it wasn't only Garrett's birthday. We invited over a few families that had only a couple kids each mostly because our house is small and can't hold that many people! But it actually turned out perfect with weather and all. Pools were set outside with a canopy and all the kids played on the swingset and swam almost the whole time and we had plenty of chairs for everyone. It was our first party we've thrown with this many people, and I have to say that I loved preparing and all for it! I think I would like throwing more parties and get-togethers.
Really good food I must say. I made pigs in blankets, we had a tray of Chik-fil-A nuggets and sauce, fruit salad, skittles, M&Ms, animal crackers, lemon lime water, crystal light punch, and capri suns for the kids.

So I wanted a pinata for the kids, and I stumbled upon pull string pinatas- I highly recommend!! Only one magical string pulls the door open, and as luck had it, it was the last string pulled! So no concussions were reported by bats or brooms!

My 2 of 29 melted in half, so it looked like I was turning 49 instead.... I think I look pretty good for 49, huh?
Garrett had no desire to dig into the cake. He doesn't really care to get dirty. He sticks one finger into new food, looks at his finger and doesn't know what to do next.
I tried to have him lick my finger, but he kept pushing my hand away. Sometimes it works!
He was sticking out his tongue and tasted some on his chin and then kept sticking it out!
Once frosting got on his hand, he kept touching his face, so it looks like he dug into the cake....
Grace is such a sweet cousin, always talking to Garrett and taking care of him and playing peek a boo.

Sweet Garrett, we love you to the moon and back and then some more! This past year has been the fastest of our lives, and the happiest, most tiresome, and most educating 12 months yet. You teach us what we need to be better at and the importance of raising a family in the gospel and striving for love in our home. We hope you get to be the big brother of at least a few more kids!

You weighed 25 pounds a few weeks ago... we'll see what you are at your checkup! Your weight is leveling off a little but your height and head keep growing.

You have the incisal tips of all four top front teeth, but only three lower teeth- lower left lateral is taking its time!
